Typing Speed Test

Check your typing speed (WPM) and accuracy.

60s

Typing well is a skill that grows with steady practice. Keep your eyes on the screen, rest your fingers on the home row and let each key find its place. Speed comes on its own once your hands learn the way, so focus first on typing every word correctly.

Frequently asked questions

How is WPM calculated?

Words per minute = (correctly typed characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Five characters count as one word, the standard used by typing tests.

What is a good typing speed?

Around 40 WPM is average. 60+ WPM is good for office work, and many government typing tests ask for 30–35 WPM in English.

Do mistakes count?

Only correct characters count towards WPM. Accuracy shows the percentage of characters you typed correctly.

Can I practise for SSC or court typing tests?

Yes. Use the 120-second test to build speed and accuracy, and aim for 95%+ accuracy.

Does it work on phones?

It works, but results are meant for physical keyboards on laptops and desktops.
