Frequently asked questions

Why is my webcam not working?

Allow camera access when asked, close other apps using the camera (Zoom, Teams, Camera app), and check any privacy shutter or keyboard camera key.

Is the video recorded or sent anywhere?

No. The preview only runs in your browser. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

What resolution is good for video calls?

720p (HD) is fine for most calls. 1080p looks sharper for recordings and interviews. Good lighting matters more than resolution.

Why does it show a lower resolution than my camera box says?

Browsers and USB bandwidth sometimes limit the resolution, and some laptop cameras quote interpolated numbers. This test shows what the camera really sends.

Why is my picture mirrored?

Mirroring makes the preview feel natural, like a mirror. Other people on a call see you the right way round. Untick Mirror to see the real view.
