Frequently asked questions

What is a packing list?

A document that lists what is inside each package of a shipment, with weights and sizes. Transporters, customs and the buyer use it to check the goods.

How do I enter several cartons with the same contents?

Type a range like 2-5 in the package number column. It counts as 4 packages for the totals and the volume.

How is CBM calculated?

Length × width × height in cm, divided by 1,000,000, for each package. The tool multiplies by the number of packages in the row and adds it up.

What is the difference between net and gross weight?

Net weight is the goods alone. Gross weight includes the box, packing material and pallet.

Is a packing list the same as an invoice?

No. A packing list has no prices; it travels with the invoice to describe the physical packages.
