Frequently asked questions

Does it read Hindi?

Yes. Choose Hindi, or “English + Hindi” for mixed text. Printed Hindi works well; handwriting is much harder for any OCR.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Text recognition runs inside your browser. The first time, your browser downloads the OCR engine and language data (a few MB); after that it's faster.

How do I get the best results?

Use a sharp, well-lit, straight photo where the text is large enough to read. Crop away everything that isn't text.

Can it read scanned PDFs?

Yes. Choose the PDF and the first 20 pages are read one by one.

Is the text 100% accurate?

Not always. OCR can mix up similar letters, so check names, numbers and amounts. You can fix mistakes right in the text box.
