Frequently asked questions
Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot?
Yes. Choose “Photo or screenshot” and pick the image. This is handy for QR codes someone sent you on WhatsApp.
Which codes can it read?
QR codes, including UPI and Wi-Fi codes, plus common barcodes such as EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, Data Matrix and PDF417.
Is my camera video sent anywhere?
No. Scanning happens entirely in your browser. Nothing from your camera or photos is uploaded.
Why won't the camera start?
Your browser needs permission to use the camera. Allow it when asked, or in site settings. You can always upload a photo instead.
How do I stay safe with QR codes?
Check links before opening them and the payee name before paying. You never need to scan a QR code to receive money.
