Frequently asked questions

Which barcode type should I use?

Code 128 for inventory, shipping and anything with letters. EAN-13 for retail products in India. ITF-14 for outer cartons.

Can I use these barcodes on products I sell?

For stores and marketplaces you need registered EAN numbers from GS1 India. For your own inventory, any code works.

PNG or SVG?

SVG stays sharp at any size and is best for labels and packaging. PNG is easy to paste into documents.

Why does my EAN-13 show an error?

EAN-13 needs exactly 12 or 13 digits. If you give 13, the last must be the correct check digit.
