Handwriting to Excel

Turn a handwritten sheet into an Excel table.

Reads English words and numbers. The first run downloads a handwriting AI model (about 60 MB) that then stays in your browser. Neat writing in separate boxes works best; you can fix any mistakes in the grid before downloading.

How to use

  1. 1Take a clear photo of the handwritten sheet from straight above and crop it to the table.
  2. 2Choose the photo and click Convert to Excel (the AI model downloads on first use).
  3. 3Check the grid and correct any words or numbers the AI misread.
  4. 4Download the .xlsx or CSV, or copy the table into Excel or Google Sheets.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is it?

Neat, separated handwriting is usually read well, but messy or joined writing will have mistakes. Every cell is editable before you download, so check names and important numbers.

Which kinds of sheets work best?

Tables drawn with lines (registers, attendance and mark sheets) give the most reliable columns. Sheets without lines also work if the columns have clear gaps between them.

Does it read Hindi handwriting?

No. The handwriting model reads English letters and numbers only. For printed Hindi text, use the Image to Excel tool.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The handwriting AI runs in your browser. The model (about 60 MB) is downloaded once and saved by your browser for next time.

Why is it slow?

The AI reads each cell separately on your device, about a second or two per cell depending on your phone or computer. A sheet with 50 filled cells takes roughly a minute.
