Frequently asked questions
Can I convert old .xls files?
No, only .xlsx (Excel 2007 and later). Open an .xls file in Excel or Google Sheets and save it as .xlsx first.
What happens to formulas?
Each formula is exported as the value Excel last saved for it, which is what you see in the cell.
Are dates kept?
Yes. Date cells are written as 2026-10-01 (with the time if there is one) instead of Excel's internal serial numbers.
What JSON formats are available?
Objects uses the first row as keys, e.g. [{"Name":"Aarav","Marks":87}]. Arrays keeps every row as a list of values.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. The file is read in your browser and never sent anywhere.
