Frequently asked questions
Why does ws:// fail?
This page is served over HTTPS, so browsers only allow secure wss:// connections. Test ws:// servers from a local page or use wss.
Can I send JSON?
Yes. Type JSON as text; turn on Pretty-print JSON to format JSON messages in the log.
Why do I get a connection error?
Check the URL, that the server is running, and that it accepts connections from browsers (some servers check the Origin header).
Does it support sub-protocols?
Yes. Enter them comma-separated, for example graphql-transport-ws.
Is my traffic sent through HQ8T?
No. Your browser connects directly to the WebSocket server.
