Frequently asked questions

What is the break-even point?

The sales level at which total revenue equals total costs, so you make neither profit nor loss.

What are fixed and variable costs?

Fixed costs stay the same each month (rent, salaries, loan EMIs). Variable costs rise with every unit sold (raw material, packing, delivery, commission).

What is contribution margin?

Selling price minus variable cost per unit. It is what each sale contributes towards fixed costs and then profit.

How can I lower my break-even point?

Raise the price, cut variable costs per unit or reduce fixed costs. The profit table shows how each change affects results.
