Do I need to know the password?
Yes, for PDFs that ask for a password when opening. This tool removes a password you know; it doesn't crack unknown passwords. PDFs that open but block printing or copying are unlocked without one.
Is my PDF or password uploaded?
No. The file is decrypted inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Why do banks and e-statements have passwords?
To protect your data in email. The password is usually printed in the email, often your date of birth or part of your PAN or account number.
Will the content change?
No. Pages, text, images and links stay exactly the same. Only the lock is removed.
Is there a size limit?
You can unlock PDFs up to 100 MB.
