Frequently asked questions
What is slab-wise commission?
Each slab's rate applies only to sales within that slab, like income tax. Example: 2% on the first ₹1 lakh, 4% on ₹1–5 lakh and 6% above.
What is whole-amount commission?
Once sales reach a slab, that slab's rate applies to all sales. It rewards crossing a target but creates big jumps at the slab limits.
What is the effective rate?
Total commission ÷ sales × 100. It helps compare plans and keep incentive cost in check.
Can I add more slabs?
Yes, up to 10. Leave the 'Up to' value blank on the last slab for 'and above'.
Is commission taxable?
Yes. Commission to employees is part of salary; to agents it is business income, and TDS under Section 194H may apply.
