Frequently asked questions

When is the landlord's PAN required?

When your rent is more than ₹1 lakh in a year (about ₹8,333 a month), employers ask for the landlord's PAN to allow the HRA exemption.

Do rent receipts need a revenue stamp?

Only when rent above ₹5,000 is paid in cash. The generator adds a box for a ₹1 revenue stamp in that case. Bank, UPI and cheque payments don't need one.

Do the receipts need to be signed?

Yes. Print the PDF and ask your landlord to sign each receipt, or sign digitally with our Sign PDF tool if your employer accepts it.

Can I make receipts for the whole financial year?

Yes. The first month defaults to April of the current financial year, with 12 receipts, three on each A4 page.

Is my information saved?

No. The PDF is created in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers.
