Password Strength Checker

How strong is your password?

🔒 Your password is checked only in your browser. It is never sent or saved. Tip: a phrase of 4–5 random words is both strong and easy to remember.

How to use

  1. 1Type a password (it never leaves your device).
  2. 2See its strength, bits of entropy and crack time.
  3. 3Read the warnings about weak patterns.
  4. 4Improve it until it shows Strong or Very strong.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to type my real password here?

The check runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent or stored. Still, a good habit is to test a similar password, not your exact one.

What makes a password strong?

Length matters most. 12+ characters, or a passphrase of 4–5 random words, beats a short mix of symbols.

Why is “Rahul@1995” weak?

Name + year + symbol is the first pattern attackers try. Birth years, names and keyboard patterns are easy to guess.

How is crack time estimated?

Offline assumes an attacker testing 10 billion guesses a second on a stolen database; online assumes about 100 guesses an hour against a login page.

What else keeps my accounts safe?

Use a different password for every site, a password manager, and two-factor authentication (OTP or authenticator app).
