Frequently asked questions
How do banks decide loan eligibility?
Mainly by FOIR (fixed obligation to income ratio): your total EMIs usually can't exceed 40–60% of your net income. Credit score, age, job stability and property value also matter.
What FOIR should I use?
50% is a common starting point. Banks may allow up to 60–65% for higher incomes, and less for lower incomes.
How can I get a bigger loan?
Choose a longer tenure, close existing loans, add an earning co-applicant, or improve your credit score for a lower rate.
What property value can I afford?
Banks usually lend up to 75–90% of the property value. We show the value at 80%, so you'd pay the remaining 20% plus stamp duty yourself.
Is this approval?
No, it's an estimate. The bank's final amount depends on its own checks.
