Frequently asked questions

When does an employee need an NOC?

Embassies often ask for one with a visa application, and some banks and colleges ask for it to confirm the employer has no objection.

Does the passport office accept this format?

Private employees can use it. Central and state government employees must use the official Annexure format prescribed by the passport office.

Who should sign the NOC?

The HR manager or an authorised signatory, on company letterhead, ideally with the company stamp.

Can I address it to a specific embassy?

Yes. Enter the addressee, or leave it blank for 'To whomsoever it may concern'.
