Frequently asked questions

How many bricks are in 1 cubic metre?

About 500 standard bricks (190 × 90 × 90 mm) with 10 mm mortar joints, or roughly 14 bricks per cubic foot.

How many cement bags for 1 m³ of M20 concrete?

About 8 bags of 50 kg, plus about 0.42 m³ sand and 0.84 m³ aggregate, using the 1 : 1.5 : 3 mix.

Why add extra tiles?

Tiles get cut at walls and some break. 10% extra is standard, so you don't run short or get a different shade later.

How much paint do I need for a room?

One litre of emulsion covers about 100–120 sq ft per coat. A 12 × 10 ft room with 10 ft walls needs about 7–8 litres for two coats.

Are these figures exact?

No. They're good estimates for planning and budgeting. Site conditions and workmanship change the real quantity, so confirm with your contractor.
